Suspect surrenders in deadly hit-and-run crash

The man wanted by authorities in connection to an early morning hit-and-run crash in Dededo self-surrendered to Guam police officers late Monday afternoon.
Police confirmed 55-year-old Reynaldo Binato Rupido turned himself in at the Dededo Precinct.
Investigators asked the community for help to locate the driver of a car that hit and killed a woman along Route 1 Marine Corps Drive just after 5 am Monday.
The driver fled the scene.
The unidentified victim was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
“Through the follow-up investigations he identified himself to be the operator of 2004 Honda Accord and admitted to his role relative to the traffic crash,” said GPD spokesperson officer Berlyn Savella.
Rupido was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident with fatal injuries.
He is being held at the Department of Corrections prison.
