Last week Joint Region Marianas confirmed it was tracking the movement of Chinese aircraft carrier, the Shan-Dong, which was spotted about 370 miles off Guam's shores. The development has since drawn national media attention.

Congressman James Moylan appeared on Fox Business News on Saturday, telling host Maria Bartiromo that his main concern is to protect the residents of Guam. He continues to push for an amendment to the defense budget bill to add another $147 million for the Guam missile defense system.

"This is US soil, we are US citizens, the Biden administration should be talking about this," the delegate emphasized. "We talked about balloons, but when we got warships outside the boundary of the US territory of Guam, why isn't that talked about? I'm not sure. Why are we shortening the funding that our commanders in IndoPacifc has said is the number one unfunded priority? I'm going to make sure that happens.

"I think my colleagues - my Republican colleagues and across the board - will make sure that happens is included in the National Defense Authorization Act, and I'm writing to President Biden to ensure to support this."

The Shan Dong is the second Chinese aircraft carrier seen in regional waters in the last four months.

The Liao Ning was also spotted in waters nearby Guam back in December.
