University of Guam student Christian Ramos was selected as a Truman Scholar finalist this week.  If selected in the final round, Ramos would receive funding for a graduate school program from The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation which bases awards on public service leadership.

Ramos, who is one of nine children in his family, is the vice president of the UOG Student Government Association and a representative in the Guam Youth Congress. He was also the first recipient of the ISA LGBTQ+ Support Scholarship.

He told KUAM News, "I really want to take this step further in the government hopefully after my graduate studies, maybe run for Senatorial office one day. That is one of my biggest aspirations. That is something I want to do after my graduate studies."

He says he hopes to pursue graduate studies in public administration. Ramos is one of 199 students from 133 colleges selected for the competition.
