Search ongoing for missing diver off Alupang

A search for a missing diver in the Alupang area is hours in.

The U.S. Coast Guard got a call just before 11 a.m. today of a 35-year-old man reported missing off Rick's Reef on the West side of the island.

He had gone diving outside the reef line of the Alupang cove area. 

Rescue units with the Guam Fire Department, Guam Police Department's Special Operations, the Coast Guard, and the Navy's HSC-25 helicopter is searching in and out of the water for the diver. 

Late this afternoon, the search, involving local and federal partners, was ongoing. 

The diver was last reported wearing a black wetsuit with orange fins, a rebreather, and a spare oxygen tank. Anyone with information should call the U.S. Coast Guard Forces Micronesia/Sector Guam Joint Rescue Sub-Center at 1 671-355-4824.
