The gubernatorial team of Michael San Nicolas/Sabrina Salas Matanane is all in for a new season. In front of a packed room on Thursday night at a Tamuning bar, San Nicolas, currently Guam's congressional delegate, was joined by his running mate, the veteran journalist Salas Matanane, for a special gathering to thank their supporters.

They lost to the Lou Leon Guerrero/Josh Tenorio team during the primary. The night included the republican gubernatorial team of former governor Felix Camacho and Senator Tony Ada. The two will go up against the incumbent in November.

San Nicolas, who ran under the democratic ticket, made clear he is pushing his supporters to vote for Camacho-Ada. "We are not going to concede," he announced. "Nobody concedes to this."

He added, "So as Bri so eloquently put it: 'Let’s get the people mobilized, let’s get the message out there, let’s put the message back into this community where out own good hearts.' Let’s show the faith that we have without no matter how diminished, we will never be extinguished. That is all that was given to us today. That is the cause we are fighting for and the fight Guam needs us to fight for. So let’s bring this fight to the general election."

In response to the event, the Leon Guerrero/Tenorio camp stated, in part, "Following the 'alone time' they requested to process their next steps, our understanding is that Camacho/Ada supporters showed up at their appreciation party to pander for votes."

The incumbent team's campaign manager, Rory Respicio, added, "Our heart goes out to those who experienced an election loss in all races...let’s move forward with Lou and Josh and retire the politics of the past."

KUAM News also caught up with Lt.. Gov. Josh Tenorio on Friday who feels they won the primary fair and square.

Here's his reaction to the delegate's comments that he would not concede: “Although he has not and will not concede the race we know that we won the election in a very fair way, in a very positive way and that will not dissuade us from continuing to take our campaign out to the people of Guam. I wish him well, I regret that the situation is like that, we had been friends a long time ago and the door is always open if he wants to reach out.”

Tenorio added he’s hopeful Mike and Bri supporters will join the democrats in the race for Adelup.
