In a presentation held this morning at Adelup, Be Heartfelt founder Lori Marsh Marble was presented a  kind donation of shoes to go towards the non-profit's shoe drive.  Marble explained how Be Heartfelt came to be and the importance behind the shoe drive.

"Two years ago, I created this small non-profit, with the idea that every child, every youth, and adult would know they are loved, that they are valuable and that they were created with a purpose. So when we go out into the communiites and we serve them closed-toe shoes so they can go to school and feel like they fit it in, have dignity. We're also spending time with them and talking with them about their value and that their community loves them, and that they were created for," she recalled.

Many of the governor's summer youth employees, about 35 interns to be exact, spearheaded the collection of shoes so that they could present to marble. Governor Lou Leon Guerrero announced, "I think this this is something different that the community can definitely contribute to and for your efforts and your passion to help the youth and children to fit in society, and be able to be successful."

All the shoes collected from the various dropoff spots will go to island children in need just in time for the new school year. For more on the non-profit's efforts and their programs and drives, go to  beheartfelt.com.
