3 deaths reported Friday due to COVID

Three more residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19, according to the Joint Information Center.

The 359th COVID-19-related death occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City on April 1st. The patient was a 70-year-old male, fully vaccinated with one booster, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on March 31.

The 360th COVID death also occurred at GRMC on April 28. The patient was a 91-year-old male, fully vaccinated with one booster, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on April 26.

The 361st COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital on May 12, 2022. The patient was a 57-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on May 12.

27 new COVID-19 cases were also reported today from 908 specimens analyzed May 12. Fourteen of those cases were reported by the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 48,496 officially reported cases, 361 deaths, 233 cases in active isolation, and 47,902 not in active isolation.

Three people are currently hospitalized with the virus, two at the Guam Memorial Hospital and one at the Guam Regional Medical City. Of the hospitalized, one is a pediatric patient, one is in the ICU and one is on a ventilator. The vaccination status of the hospitalized are as follows: One is vaccinated, one is unvaccianted and one is ineligible.

Also, the Southern Region Community Health Center (SRCHC) vaccination clinic in Inalåhan will be closed this Saturday, May 14.
