A Navy official has confirmed that a submarine involved in an undersea collision in the Indo Pacific is currently docked in Guam.

According to a Navy News release, "The Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine USS Connecticut struck an object while submerged on the afternoon of October 2nd, while operating in international waters."

A spokesman for Pacific Fleet in Honolulu said none of the crew suffered life-threatening injuries and the sub made its way to Guam on its own power.

The Navy said, "The submarine remains in a safe and stable condition. USS Connecticut's nuclear propulsion plant and spaces were not affected and remain fully operational. The extent of damage to the remainder of the submarine is being assessed."
The incident is under investigation.
