The number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 has decreased to 27. According to the Joint Information center, of that number 4 are receiving ICU level care. No one is on a ventilator. Out of the 27 patients, a total of 18 are unvaccinated and 9 are vaccinated.
The Department of Public Health also reports 109 new cases of COVID-19. These are positive results from 837 tests conducted on Friday, August 27th. More results are pending from other clinics and will be released on Monday. To date, there have been a total of 10,155 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 145 deaths, 1,186 cases in active isolation and 8,824 not in active isolation. As of August 27th, the CAR Score is 30.
The Guam Department of Education also confirms 17 new positive cases involving students, and 5 positive cases involving employees.

The total number of students who have tested positive for COVID-19 since the beginning of the school year is now 106. On Friday the governor signed a new executive order manting all schools, public and private, offering pre-K through 12th grade classes to cease in-person learning effective Monday, August 30th at 8:00am. During a virtual community input session Saturday morning, GDOE Superintendent Jon Fernandez announced that online classes will begin on Tuesday, September 7th. Fernandez told the more than 300 people participating in the virtual session that while he and his team work on the transition from in person to online instruction, he will also focus on what GDOE needs to do to strategize in order to get schools reopened as soon as the community is in a safer position.
The Archdiocese of Agana also announced that six students tested positive. The cases were identified at:

The number of Catholic school students who have tested positive now totals 29.
