Taxpayers file smoothly through DRT drive-up

Tax Season has arrived and things appear to be running smoothly at the Department of Revenue and Taxation.

"This Morning at Revenue and Taxation, we introduced a new process here, which is a drive-up service, where if you have your tax forms, it's all prepared, all we do is, instead of you coming up and waiting in line on the outside, it's just a drive-up service," Deputy Director Frank Leon Guerrero. "You stay in your car, if all your documents are correct, we stamp it as received, we will stamp your copy. And it's pretty much a very efficient operation, we've serviced several hundred cars since early this morning."

And the reviews so far on DRT's plan to mitigate traffic on the first day of tax season so far? Taxpayer, Ariel Dimalanta says he's happy with the speedy process.

"It's very good, it's efficient and I didn't need to wait for a long time," he said. "I didn't wait, I just drive-thru."

Meanwhile, all business privilege tax returns will now need to be filed electronically. Beginning March 1, 2021, users will need to re-register at GUAMTAX.COM, to file their BPT Returns, starting with tax filing for the month of February.
