Gas station workers suspected he might leave with paying for his gas and that's what Jason Anthony Blas did.

The incident took place back in July 2019 at a Tamuning gas station.

Blas, 29, pulled up to a pump and tried to operate it, court documents state.  A cashier then notified him over the intercom that he had to pay inside or leave an ID first.

He didn't have an ID so he was told to stay inside the store while the attendant filled up his pickup. But once it was finished, Blas walked out and left.

Just a couple of days ago, on Feb. 5, police caught up with Blas who was pulled over for not having a valid registration sticker on his license plate.

He was interviewed about the gas station theft and court documents state he claimed the attendant intended on paying for the gas. He also claimed that the cashier and the attendant were laughing when this happened and that it didn't seem like a big deal to them.

Police also noted the VIN on his dashboard did not match what was registered to his license plate. Blas claimed that he had swapped out a chassis that he purchased from "some Filipino guy," according to court documents. He then ended the interview saying police were just trying to get him in trouble.

Blas was charged with Retail Theft and Vehicle Withoug Identification.
