Independent Guahan members clean up the Cetti Bay Overlook over the weekend.

A couple dozen members of the group -which advocates independence as a political status choice for Guam - met Saturday morning to help pick up trash and clear tree growth impeding the view at the park.

Independent Guahan adopted the park earlier this year and painted a mural entitled "Na'la'la Sunset" on its retaining wall. Several bags of trash were collected on Saturday. Volunteers also rounded up a bed frame, barbecue pit and other discarded items.

The cleanup was conducted by the group's ArtReach committee, which offers hikes, outreaches and cleanups as part of its community educations efforts. For more info visit Independent Guahan's Facebook page.
