Former Assistant Attorney General David Highsmith is no longer with the Office of the of Guam, according to a release from the AG's office.

Effective Oct. 2, Highsmith was no longer with the agency, and no further comment will be given as this is a personnel issue, the release said.

Highsmith was arrested after he allegedly pushed attorney Gary Gumataotao in early August.

AG Leevin Camacho had asked Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero to engage the services of an independent attorney to review Highsmith's arrest report and decide whether to file criminal charges, however, the release sent today says to forward all inquiries about an independent attorney to the Office of the Governor.
