It was a pullover for expired tags, but instead police arrested the driver for possessing drugs.
Wednesday morning port police officers were on their way back to Piti from the Agat Marina when they pulled over a car being driven by 24-year-old Derek Julian Salas Quinata. He consented to a search of the vehicle. Although Quinata told police there weren't any drugs or weapons inside, police found a glass pipe and a clear plastic zip lock bag both contained a white flakey residue which tested presumptive positive for meth.
Quinata also did not have a driver's license. He was charged with possession of a scheduled two controlled substance as third degree felony.
