Island turns out for thrills at Smokin Wheels

The 2015 Smokin Wheels weekend was another great event for families to come out and enjoy both local and off island competitors compete. The event started off with drag racing at the raceway track in Yigo. Cars, trucks and bikes hit the quarter mile strip for the best time along with a burnout competition that has always been a crowd favorite. The Jack Daniels Smokin Grills competition, Showoff Guam Car Show were also a few other events show cased at the Guam International Raceway.

In the Off-Road buggies and trucks 3-hour endurance race Yuichi Takahashi dethroned 5-time champion Ikuo Hanawa to walk away this year's winner. Taking home 3rd place were local legends Joey Crisostomo and Henry Simpson in the Cars Plus Miller Lite Unlimited Buggy. Taking home the Open Motorcycle endurance race was Sean Lipanovich and Nic Yashuhiro while the Mid-open ATV endurance race was dominated by Japan riders all taking the top 5 slots.

The Jack Daniels Smokin Grills competition, Showoff Guam Car Show, Mud drags, and Round 1 of the Proline Drift Series were also a few other events show cased at the Guam International Raceway. Congratulations to all the riders that participated in this year's Smokin Wheels, shout out to all the sponsors, volunteers and spectators that made Smokin Wheels another memorable event.
