Guam - Legislation is in the works to demolish the vacated Manuel Guerrero Administration Building in Hagatna. The building is owned by the Guam Legislature and formerly housed the Department of Administration and the Department of Education.

Guam Economic Development Authority administrator John Rios told KUAM News, "We've been working with the Rules Chair Senator Rory Respicio and we provided a draft bill to him to allow for the demolition of the Department of Administration building it would also transfer from the Legislature to the Government of Guam the property so further development, part of the Hagatna Restoration and Redevelopment master plan will be used and that property will be considered," he said.

Rios estimates the cost for demolition to be about half a million dollars. The governor in his most recent address made a resolution to move forward with the Hagatna Revitalization Plan and tear down the building in order to begin the process of reconstructing the Spanish governor's palasio.
