Guam - Good news to report out of University of Guam, as a recent evaluation from the US Geological Survey named UOG's Water and Environmental Research Institute among the top water research institutes in the nation.
The evaluation covered 54 similar water research institutes and centers across the nation over the period of 2008 and 2010.
USGS, which provides grant funding for WERI, praised the institute for its "significant research accomplishments" and its "impacts on public policy and water management throughout the region."
The USGS also commended WERI for its work in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia.
