Day after Thanksgiving declared GovGuam holiday

 by Ken Quintanilla

Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo has signed an executive order declaring Friday, November 28 - the day after Thanksgiving - as a Government of Guam holiday. In the executive order, the Calvo administration states it is their intention to reward the more than 12,000 Government of Guam employees, to give them a break and to recognize them for their exemplary deed.

The governor further recognizes the need for GovGuam employees to have more time to spend with their families and to rest and re-energize as the administration moves forward with more changes to the very nature of government service. The executive order goes on to say that is the second year in a row that GovGuam has paid tax refunds to Guamanians within the tax year and without borrowing.
