Guam beats Chinese Taipei in soccer

Guam - Guam outclassed and outpaced host country Chinese Taipei on opening day of the EAFF East Asian Cup semifinal round resulting in a 2-1 victory at Taipei Municipal Stadium in Taipei City.
The win was Guam's first ever in the semifinal round. Matao captain Jason Cunliffe score the first goal off a penalty kick followed by teammate Shane Malcolm later scored the eventual game-winner - his first international goal for Guam. Gary White head coach of the Matao says "Out of all the games we've played against Chinese Taipei in recent years, the squad we played (Nov. 13) was their strongest team by far against us," Guam men's national football team. The Matao fell to DPR Korea in their next match 5-1 and will play their final match of the tournament against Hong Kong, kicking off at 4 p.m. Nov. 19.
