Man pleads guilty in drug conspiracy case

Guam - Benny Benavidez has agreed to cooperate with federal authorities after signing a plea agreement admitting to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Benavidez faces a minimum of ten years behind bars because he has a prior drug conviction, but could be sentenced to life in prison.
In March and August of last year, he picked up express mail packages that he knew contained the drug Ice. A status hearing is scheduled for October 23. The judge released Benavidez from custody under certain conditions.
