Guam wants Vladivostok as sister city

Guam - A Guam delegation is preparing to for its third marketing mission to Russia. According to Guam Visitors Bureau marketing manager Pilar Laguana, the delegation is working to establish Vladivostok as a sister city with Guam in order to foster tourism, travel, economic development, and educational exchange programs.

Guam already has sister cities in the Philippines, China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. "We're very excited we're starting to see a lot of Russian guests come to Guam and they're enjoying it with their families they have rave reviews about our island; they really enjoy our beautiful environments, beaches, and getting to know our people and our culture through activities that they have been able to participate in," she said.

Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio will lead the delegation and will be accompanied by GVB chairman Monty Mesa, as well as the GVB marketing team and cultural performers. They leave this weekend and return July 5.
