Airport Police officers awarded

Guam - Police officers at the Guam International Airport Authority were recognized as part of Police Week. An award ceremony was held at the terminal this morning where three new airport police officers were sworn in, two officers completed the Airport K-9 Drug Detection Cycle and about 20 individuals under the Civilian Volunteer Airport Police Reserve Program were introduced.

Robert Lau, who works at the Port Authority of Guam, says he volunteered to help augment the manpower shortage. "I think I can add my knowledge and expertise not only from my civilian job, but I'm also a member of the military. I'm in the Air Force Reserves, I think I can bring forward what I know from the civilian side into the Airport Police," he shared.

More than 20 Airport Police officers also received recognition for their service.
