Guam - The U.S. Marshals Service along with the Judiciary of Guam's Sex Offender Registry successfully located and verified 299 sex offenders during Operation Deviant Guard. The team includes the Judiciary's Parole and Marshals Division as well as the Department of Corrections. Senior inspector John Untalan says during the operations one sex offender was indicted in District Court for failing to register and taken into custody, eight were arrested for other outstanding warrants and sixteen failed to register investigations that were generated.

Untalan says although the operation is done, he warns other sex offenders who are non-compliant, telling KUAM News, "Because maybe we didn't locate you in this point in time or you are not on the radar in terms of you being aware that you are required to register, we will at some point look at everyone who to the Guam Sex Offender Registry to aware they must register but just hasn't made contact yet."

The task force also found an illegal marijuana plantation in Yona during the operation. The plants are estimated to cost a street value of $1,400. Authorities eradicated the plants and turn it over to ATF and GPD over further investigation.
