Guam - The Cars Plus Rams look to get back to their winning ways this Saturday when they take on the Shell Hal's Angels. The Rams will face the Angels in a rematch of last year's championship game at 2:30 pm in the afternoon at the UOG Field. Cars Plus is one of the most experienced teams in the league led by quarter back Brant McCreadie. The Rams have some new additions to the team and shuffled players around to balance out this year's squad.
Rams defensive coach Charles Churchill told KUAM Sports, "We're looking forward to a good year this year we had a tough loss last year with our defense but our defense played really well. We have some returning starters, Chris Sgro and Frank Arriola is back and we're trying to sew it up in the middle. I think physically last year we had a pretty good season, as you know we lost in the championship game so I think everyone is feeling what it felt like playing football last year. This is our second year and I think everyone will be ready to go and we'll have a little better play than we did last year."
This season the Rams offense picked up running back Hosea Ware from the Pepsi Warriors and added more speed in the backfield, McCreadie will have his go to targets back, at tight end Brain Haun, Eddie Ko and Eddie Calvo will line up wide, with Danny Cepeda at the slot position. On defense the Rams are fast and young with veteran players filling in the holes.
Sgro said, "The team's looking pretty good right now, we have a lot of speed on the team and a lot of athleticism. We are hoping as the season goes further along with experience and everyone playing together we will be in championship form like we were last year and hopefully this time we'll come away with that win and get that championship."
