Air Force donates laptops to man'amko

Guam - Aside from defending freedom, the U.S. Air Force on Guam continues to give back to the local community. Whether it's through community clean ups or donating to the island's public schools, the military always does its part in helping island residents.

Just last week, a dozen laptops were donated to the island's man'amko. President of the Guam Retired Persons Association Pilar Lujan told KUAM News, "So many of them have not even had any awareness of the computer education and its really fast moving now especially with the military buildup."

Lujan says the donation from the military not only teaches the island's elderly about computers, but also to communicate with their grandchildren and family living an ocean away. "They should also know how to restrict some of the programs and encourage them to watch certain things in the computer instead of watching TV all day long," she said.

Lujan says they will be using the laptops for computer training at the Sinajana Community Center.
