Straight off of the momentum of comedies like "Superbad" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" comes a film about coping with a Rock Star past his prime. Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) is an assistant for Pinnacle Music. After he concocts an idea to resurrect the career of washed up Rock Star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand), his boss Sergio Roma (Sean Combs aka P. Diddy) sends him to London to pick up Aldous and bring him to L. A. for his comeback concert. Unfortunately for Aaron, that is no easy task.
In between the trip from L. A. to London, Aaron and Aldous partake in numerous hilarious escapades. The movie is downright funny. Jonah Hill is a perfect fit for a passive, introverted character like Aaron. Surprisingly, P. Diddy is very convincing in his role as CEO of Pinnacle Music. (Well, I guess that isn't that surprising considering that P. Diddy is a CEO of a record company.) The chemistry between all the characters in the film is very strong and there is never a dull moment throughout the 135 minute runtime.
If you want to catch a very funny comedy in the same template like "Superbad", you can't go wrong with "Get Him to the Greek". The movie will have you uncontrollably laughing from beginning to end.
4 out of 5 stars.
