Guam - PXC 19 was off the chain, the show started off with four amateur fights. In the first fight of the night Chad Sholing went up against Joe Camacho to get got the night underway. After a quick exchange Joe Camacho looked like the more experienced of the two and managed to control Sholing went the fight went to the ground. Camacho pulled off the win by referee stoppage in round 1.
Brandon Taijeron and Ryan Toves took to the cage for the 2nd amateur fight of the night. Both guys tried out their stand up game with Toves getting the better of Taijeron early on. Taijeron lured in Toves into his guard after falling to the canvas. Toves had the mount and was unable to pull off a submission and sent the fight into the 2nd round. The 2nd round started with both guys coming out throwing bombs, looking to end the fight. When the fight went to the ground Taijeron was able to secure a lock on Toves arm with his legs and force him to tap early in round 2.
Gene Johnson and Mike Viddauri stepped into the Terror Dome next. Johnson a leg kick specialist came out throwing some sick kicks. Viddauri more of the ground technician shot in for the takedown and eventually got the mount. Johnson rolled over and exposed his back and was forced to tap after Viddauri secured the choke in the first round.
Derek Hattori met up with Lamonzo Reed in the last amateur fight of PXC 19. Reed looked to keep the fight standing but once the fight went to the ground Reed was able to get the mount and land some shots. Derek weathered the storm and reversed Lamonzo getting dominant position. Hattori was able to open Reed up with some punches and get the rear naked choke in round 1.
Justin "The Shocker" Cruz and Josh Alvarez got things popping on the main card. Cruz came out with a jumping rear naked choke and transitioned into an arm bar. Alvarez showed great ground defense avoiding the submission attempts by the Shocker. The first round went back and forth but went to the Shocker after he controlled the action. In the 2nd round both guys came out standing with a quick exchange and went back to the ground after another takedown by Justin Cruz. With the fight going into the 3rd, Josh was down 2-0 and needed a knockout or submission to win. Alvarez stood his ground and threw everything he had but came up short, losing by decision.
Cuki Alvarez used his reach and Wrestling background to keep Wenyu Bamba on the defensive side of their match up. Alvarez kept the distance using leg kicks and jabs to move forward. Bamba looked loaded with the right but couldn't land it as Cuki used the cage to his advantage by moving around. Alvarez got the takedown and caught Bamba with the Kimura after getting north/south position for the win.
Rob Washington used his hands to beat Saipan's Arnold Balbin. Washington didn't waste anytime pressing the issue early. Rob caught Arnold with several shots and finished him off with the ground and pound. Referee Tony DeAngelo called the fight off in the first round.
Jason Adamos and Hosea Ware battled it out at 175-pounds. The first round was a war with both fighters able to land kicks and punches. Hosea had a couple of submission attempts on Adamos but couldn't pull them off as Adamos fought through. Jason Adamos reversed every bad situation into an offensive counter, going to work on Ware. As the fight went on it looked like Adamos was still the fresher of the two. Adamos comes through and had enough in the tank to pull out of what looked like bad situations and punched his way into a 2nd round referee stoppage.
Ronnie Borja stuck to his game plan against Robert Wusstig. Wusstig looked good on his feet, showing an unorthodox fighting stance but still managed to land. Borja switched up his stance to off set Rob and sneak in some punches. When Wusstig went in for the takedown, he quickly went for a leg lock but was countered by Borjas leg lock attempt and tapped in the first round.
"Baby Joe" Taimanglo went to work against Korean Top Team Fight Bae Chan Ho. Baby Joe controlled the first round using his Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling skills to mix it up. Joe was able to take Chan Ho down at will and use some dirty boxing to keep the Korean fighter up against the cage. Taimanglo fought a perfect fight, out punching Bae Chan Ho and racking up points with the takedowns. The Korean Top Team Fighter fought hard to keep Joe away but Joe was too strong and was putting the pressure on the whole fight. With the fight in the 3rd round, Baby Joe's conditioning was still good and over powered Chan Ho on the ground to get the head and arm choke win before time expired.
Alex Castro showed fans that he too has improved in all aspect of his game. Castro got caught early but returned the favor and rocked Hwang Kyong Peyng in round 1. Both fighters looked to feel each other out. Alex landed some vicious leg kicks that hurt the Korean Fighter. Castro surprised the fans by taking the fight to the ground after coming up with some big slams. Alex broke out his wrestling skills to get into better position to start raining down with shots.
The Korean Fighter tried to use his reach to keep Alex away but Castro still got inside to throw punches and get the takedown. Castro showed his Jiu-Jitsu and finished the fight off with the rear naked choke.
