Guam - In boys high school basketball, the Okkodo Bulldogs were crowned this year's champs after holding on to the 35-34 win against the Simon Sanchez Sharks. Game MVP Neil Apilado put up 8 points in the Bulldogs win.
Okkodo managed to turn things around after finishing the year 6-7 to cap off their Cinderella story. Derrick Royster scored 7 points in the loss for Sanchez to go along with 5 blocks on defense. Don Mapote, Dezdin Fikes and Maksever Kepwe all played key roles in the Bulldogs' win.
After coming back from this year's Far East Tournament, Okkodo showed signs of being the top team on island in the playoffs and proved it in the title game last night.
