Guam - Attorney David Lujan will have to look for a new legal counsel to represent him as the firm of Calvo & Clark has filed a motion to withdraw as counsel. Lujan and Barry Israel and Keith Waibel are being sued by DHL heir Junior Larry Hillbroom. According to documents filed in the Central District of California, the Calvo & Clark law firm contends Lujan has failed to pay attorneys fees for the last nine months and has also failed to communicate and cooperate with his legal counsel.
A declaration filed by William Hebert informed the court that Lujan's failure to cooperate has made it unreasonably difficult for the firm to effectively represent him. Judge Otis Wright II is scheduled to hear the motion on April 5.
Hillbroom alleges Lujan, Israel and Waibel received millions more in retainer fees than he claimed he knew about. Lujan meanwhile has filed a defamation lawsuit against the law firm representing Hillbroom.
