Guam - The Guam Medical Association is hosting the Guam Health Insurance Forum tomorrow night during its general membership meeting. All four major insurance companies on island will be present to answer questions about their respective plans but also to engage in dialogue with members regarding the impacts of national health reform and the military buildup. Dr. Thomas Shieh is with the Guam Medical Association
"What we're going to do is go ahead and throw out some questions," he said. "Some of our members, we have over a hundred members, so we need to isolate what is important to them and how to work better with insurance companies to ensure reimbursements are there, to ensure the care of the patients is secured and to know that if there are limitations on coverage, what are some of the issues that we can tackle to make sure the patient gets the care they need."
The forum is scheduled for tomorrow at the Hyatt Hotel in Tumon beginning at 6pm.
