BBL season begins with Giants/Braves

by Dave Delgado

Guam - Make sure to head on down to the Paseo Stadium for the season opener of the 2010 BBL season. Tonight's game gets underway at 7pm between last year's two championship teams hitting the field, the Gatorade Giants taking on the Moylan's ODC Braves. The Giants are fresh off winning this years pre season title and will look to their pitchers Freddy Cepeda, Eric Cepeda and Derwin Augon to got the job done.

The Giants have a blend of veterans and some youth on the team led by Chad and Jared Palomo, along with Matt Muna, who had a big pre-season, hitting for the cycle in one of the games. With the loss of J.R. Hattig and Ray Aguon, the guys on the Giants team will have to break out the sticks early in tonight's game.

The Braves on the other hand will be led by Rico Castro, Tony Yatar and Tony Doyle, among other veteran players on the team. Age will be a factor this year to see if the guys can stay healthy through out the year. The Braves will have most of their players returning with a strong pitching staff and a good line up of hitters if everyone returns.
