The private sector will once again take the lead on an overseas business development mission, this time to Korea between October 19 and 21. As with a similar Philippines mission earlier this year, the Guam Economic Development Authority will support the Korea private sector initiative, as will as the Guam Visitors Bureau.
About 120 Korean corporations will attend the invitation-only Guam Buildup Symposium and Business Opportunities Conference. They are to include Samsung Construction and Trading Corp., STX Corp., and SK Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd., as well as other construction companies and investment and financial institutions. Targeted companies also include those with telecom and electronics and technology interests.
Attendees will receive information on topics that include the military buildup, tax incentives for doing business on Guam; government of Guam infrastructure; and the real estate market. The military buildup is expected to be a major topic of discussion, said David B. Tydingco, senior vice president of Younex International and chairman of the Guam Visitors Bureau.
