Investigators are releasing few details into the death investigation that unfolded in Anigua Friday night.

As KUAM first reported, a bystander walking along the beach came across the decomposed body around 5:30 pm and called police.

By midday Saturday, Guam Police Department spokesperson Norman Analista was only able to confirm the decomposed body was that of a man who was wearing tan shorts.

Authorities are not yet saying if the victim had any injuries that showed potential signs of foul play or if he had any identification on him.

Analista adds the next of kin needs to be located.

KUAM was at the scene located behind The Lime Event Venue in Anigua when detectives with GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division and officials with the Chief Medical Examiner’s office put the man’s body into the CME’s vehicle and took him to the hospital for autopsy.

Analista said the death investigation is ongoing until the medical examiner’s report is complete.

Police are asking that anyone with information contact GPD at 671-475-8615 through 8617 or on the Guam Crimestoppers website.
