Archdiocese wants to cut seminary's price by $50K

Posted: Updated:

The Archdiocese of Agana has filed a motion to reduce the purchase price of the Redemptoris Mater Seminary or Hotel Accion property by $50,000. The original price was $5.4 million.

According to court documents the reduce price was based on a buyer's investigation of the property which include unanticipated electrical plumbing repairs that are needed, the fact that the large electrical generator that supplies power to the entire site is missing, and copper piping that had been removed from the property.

Objections to the sale have been filed by the Berman O'Connor and Mann law firm as well as the Lujan and Wolf law firm.

A hearing on the sale has been scheduled for May 31.
