Students compete in Island Wide Science Fair

More than 400 participants from Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands took part in the 41st Annual Island Wide Science Fair.

Several classrooms within the UOG Science building were lined with novel inventions and exciting experiments created by young minds.

Overall Winners

High School (Division 4): Daniel Kang, Junior, John F. Kennedy High School - Title: “Novel Graphene Nanoplatelet and Ketjenblack Embedded Pigmentless Acrylic Emulsions for Next Generation Flexible Electronics"

 Middle School (Division 3): Vaishnavi Khandelwal, 8th Grade, St. John’s School - Title: “Analyzing The Antimicrobial Properties of Murraya Koenigii Leaves”

 Grades 3-5 (Division 2): Jay Whitman, 5th Grade, Andersen Elementary School - Title: “Our World of Bacteria”

 Grades K-2 (Division 1): Nick Carter Duhaylungsod, 2nd Grade, Santa Barbara Catholic School - Title: “Salty and Bright”

This year's overall high school division winner will attend NASA Space Camp. Congratulations to all the winners and participants on a job well done!
