A proclamation was signed today declaring May 20-June 2 as Click It or Ticket National Seat Belt Enforcement Mobilization. Department of Public Works Office of Highway Safety encourages everyone on the roadways to wear seat belts.

DPW Director Vince Arriola says that a 2018 seatbelt survey indicated that 92.24 percent of drivers and front seat passengers were observed to be wearing their seat belts.

"We all know the advantages of using seat belts; we all know the advantages of using the correct and proper child care safety restraint systems," Arriola said. "So I think as the years go on, it's just a matter of time before we get to 100 percent."
