Jury selection underway for Ray Tenorio's gun-grabbing trial

Posted: Updated:

Day 1 of jury selection got underway for former lieutenant governor Ray Tenorio.

When KUAM News asked how they were feeling, Tenorio's lawyer Tom Fisher said, "Good", with Tenorion himself saying the same, adding, "Looking forward to the day."

We are told more than a hundred potential jurors are part of the process.

Dozens were seen leaving the courtroom today after being dismissed from sitting on the panel.

Tenorio is undergoing trial in the Superior Court for last year's gun grabbing incident at the BBQ block party in Tumon. He stands accused of repeatedly un-holstering a police officer's gun at the event.

He is charged with misdemeanor official misconduct and reckless conduct.

Jury selection is ongoing.
