GVB reports record numbers for 2018 tourism

Posted: Updated:

It was another record year for tourism. The Guam Visitors Bureau reports 1.55 million visitor arrivals in 2018 - the best year ever.  The month of December saw a 3.7 percent increase, which is the best month in Guam’s history.

GVB said the growth is directly attributable to an increase in airline seats, which rose 5.68 percent compared to a year ago. GVB also points to a continued recovery in the all-important Japan market, which saw a 27.24 percent increase year on year.

However, Korean arrivals dipped almost 9 percent in December.
