DPW's roadwork plans include Dededo, Chalan Pago, Talofofo

Route 3 Widening 

Construction activities are ongoing along Route 3 from just north of Route 28 to just south of Potts Junction. 

On Saturday, October 6, 2018, the DPW contractor, Black Construction, will be installing the new storm drain line across Bullard Avenue between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Motorists travelling along Bullard Avenue are advised to drive cautiously through the construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed flaggers. 

Route 1/3 Intersection Improvements (Dededo) 

Construction activities are ongoing at the Route 1/ Route 3 intersection. Starting on Monday, October 8, 2018, motorists are advised that the Route 1 southbound middle lane will be closed starting from the Dededo Police Station to the Route 3 intersection. The Route 1 southbound right lane will be a right turn-only lane onto Route 3. Two through lanes will be provided. Motorists continuing southbound on Route 1 are advised to merge to the open left lanes as directed by traffic signs and flaggers. No U-turn traffic will be allowed. 

The Route 3 southbound outer lane after Guam Regional Medical Center will be closed. Motorists are advised to merge to the middle lane. The Route 3 southbound traffic turning right onto Route 1 southbound are restricted to right turn on Green only. 

Starting Monday, October 8, 2018, motorists are advised that there will be intermittent lane closures and shifts on Route 1 northbound traffic. The Route 1 northbound left lane west of the intersection will be a left turn-only lane onto Route 3. Motorists continuing northbound on Route 1 are advised to merge to the open lanes as directed by traffic signs and flaggers. 

Route 1 and Route 8 Resurfacing 

Road repair will start this week along northbound lanes on Route 1 from Cabras Power Plant towards Asan-Piti between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Motorists traveling north on Route 1 (Asan-Piti) are advised to drive with caution, merge to the open lanes as directed by signs and flaggers, and to expect delays.

Motorists traveling north on Route 1 (Yigo-Dededo) are advised to drive with caution, merge to the open lanes as directed by signs and flaggers, and to expect delays. 

Chalan Pahong – Chalan Pago/Ordot 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews will continue preparing the road bed for hot mix asphalt paving starting from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect delays. 

Perez Heights – Talofofo 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crew will continue preparing the road bed for hot mix asphalt paving starting from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect delays during these times due to intermittent lane closures and shifts. 

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through all construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed to flaggers. Alternative routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
