The latest heavy weather briefing by the National Weather Service detailed Typhoon Mangkhut at its closest point of approach to Guam.

Typhoon force wind gusts are expected to subside around 10 p.m. particularly through northern Guam.

Severe tropical storm destructive winds of 58 mph or greater will continue through 2 to 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The public is asked to stay sheltered in place at least until sunrise because of debris and flooded streets.
