Free small business workshop to cover research and development funding opportunities

Posted: Jul 12, 2018 10:03 AM Updated:

A free workshop for small businesses interested in opportunities for research and development funding is available to the public July 14.

The Small Business Innovation Research program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture offers competitively awarded grants to qualified small businesses to support high quality research related to important scientific problems and opportunities in agriculture that could lead to significant public benefits. The program stimulates technological innovations in the private sector and strengthens the role of federal research and development in support of small businesses. The SBIR program also fosters and encourages participation by women-owned and socially or economically disadvantaged small businesses. $22 million in funding is awarded annually through competitive Requests for Applications.

The training runs from 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Saturday at Room 129  of the Anthony A. Leon Guerrero Multi-Purpose Room at  the University of Guam Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero Business and Public Administration Building.

To register, go to https://pisbdcn.ecenterdirect.com/events/4196 , call 735-2950 or visit pacificsbdc.com .
