Man arrested for hitting officer in the face

Posted: Jun 14, 2018 5:34 PM Updated:

He was seen on the side of a Dededo road swinging a metal chain at passing cars when he was confronted by police. But, that's not why he was placed under arrest.

44-year-old Dontoy Ruben allegedly yelled and put up a fight with one of the responding officers, striking him in the face. The men ended up on the ground, struggling to restrain him.

Court documents state the officer dislocated a pinky finger in addition to abrasions to his neck and face.

He was treated at GMH and released.

Ruben, meanwhile, is charged with assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
