Governor responds to Troy Torres: Calvo offers prayers, but won't engage

It's the first direct response being made to his former communications director. After a string of emails from Troy Torres accusing the administration of cover ups and corruption, Governor Eddie Calvo replied to the latest one stating he apologizes for not responding to his continued allegations.

The latest email from Torres called for protection for Dr. Kozue Shimabokuro, who recently spoke out against the Guam Memorial Hospital during a hearing at the Guam Congress building.

Calvo in an email stated, "I must continue my focus and efforts to serving the people of Guam. I do not have the time nor energy to respond to your numerous falsehoods. Judging by the words and tone of your numerous correspondences, I can sense the anger and pain you hold within yourself. As one who knows you, and still cares for you, I can only give you my deepest thoughts and prayers.

I am hopeful that as this election season comes to its conclusion, you will find it in yourself to shed the vitriol you have with me, my family and former workmates. But more important, I pray that peace comes upon you."

Torres was arrested earlier this year after a drug raid at his Latte Heights home. Though he was never officially charged, Torres admitted that he was on drugs while working for the administration.

Since then he's sent out a storm of allegations against the administration claiming the arrest was a set up.
