Visits from Presidential Candidates to UOG are in full swing. Though it's Dr. Thomas Krise's first visit to Guam, he says he fits the criteria required by law, that the UOG President has substantial knowledge of Guam's people and culture.

Attending high school in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and studying Caribbean literature, he notes the similarities across island communities, as he said, "The things I think I will be able to bring are a deep appreciation for islands and island culture. My own academic interest is island communities in the Caribbean so that understanding helps me comprehend the issues in Guam."

The English Professor also highlights his 22 years of military experience as a plus to communicate with Guam's military bases and increase veteran students.

The second candidate, Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez met with students, faculty, and alumni at UOG Tuesday afternoon.
