It's out with the old and in with the new at the Anderson Air Force Base. Outgoing Commander Brigadier General Douglas Cox gave his final command to airmen today in a ceremony held at the Air Force Base. Brigadier General Cox has served in the military for more than two decades including two years of bearing the responsibility for more than 8,000 military and civilian personnel at the Air Force Base.

"Your leadership combined with your truly sincere care for our families and the military members as well as the civilians and everybody else that serves here it really was an example to us all," said Brigadier General Cox, passing the flag of command today in a ceremony to Brigadier General Gentry Boswell.

Brigadier General Boswell was the Director of Operations and Communications of the Air Force Global Strike Command in Barksdale, Louisiana before coming to Guam and giving a speech as the new commander. "We live in a very uncertain world. It is global and it's characterized by its very unpredictable nature, but our capability, commitment, and our lethality is going to be something that is always certain, certain in our hearts, but foremost certainly in the minds of our enemies and our adversaries. It is our path to success," he announced.

The incoming commander addressed listeners on the unreliable nature of the world we live in today, but also reassured them on the military's certainty to address future threats.
