Jury begins deliberations for Jeremiah Isezaki trial

Posted: Jun 08, 2018 3:56 PM Updated:

Defendant Jeremiah Isezaki's fate rests with the jury. After a month's worth of testimony, jurors headed into deliberations on Friday after parties presented closing arguments.

There was quite literally an elephant in the room - defense attorney Doug Moylan inflated a miniature elephant as he recapped the evidence, which he argued, didn't prove Isezaki plotted to kill a cop. Back in 2012, Isezaki was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and terrorizing, both as felonies.

Earlier this week he testified that he was only planning to set GPD Officer Benny Babauta up for criminal sexual conduct to have him removed from the force.

Isezaki, as we reported, believed Babauta had planted a gun and drugs on him in an earlier arrest.

Lt. Babauta remains on the force assigned to support as the Acting Division Chief.
