Roadwork projects for May 21-26

Route 3 Widening 

Motorists are advised that construction activities are ongoing along Route 3 from just north of Route 28 to just south of Potts Junction. The Route 3 northbound lane will be narrowed to accommodate work in the adjacent roadway shoulder. 

Intermittent lane closures will occur along Route 28 and near the entrance of NCS Tuesday, May 22nd, Thursday, May 24th, Saturday, May 26th, and Sunday May 27th between the 9:00AM and 4:00PM.Motorists should expect reduced speeds and are advised to proceed with caution. 

Bile/Pigua Bridge Replacement (Merizo) 

Motorists are advised that construction activities are ongoing at the Bile and Pigua Bridges. Intermittent traffic stoppages should be expected for up to 5 minutes at both the Bile and Pigua Bridges between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM as construction progresses. 

Route 1/3 Intersection Improvements (Dededo) 

Motorists are advised that construction activities are ongoing at the Route 1/ Route 3 intersection. The Route 1 northbound left lane west of the intersection will be a left turn-only lane onto Route 3. Two northbound through lanes will be maintained. Motorists traveling northbound on Route 1 through the Route 3 intersection are advised to move to the right two lanes in advance of the intersection. 

On Monday, May 21, 2018, Route 1 southbound inner lane prior to the Route 3 intersection will be closed from 9:00AM to 4:00PM and will be reduced to two through lanes. Through traffic are advised to merge right. Motorists traveling southbound on Route 1 are advised to proceed with caution and expect delays. 

Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) - San Vitores Road Flood Mitigation Project (Installation of additional storm water and trench drain inlets between Fujita Road and Route 14) 

The GEDA contractor will continue drainage improvement work at Revera Lane (road next to T-Galleria) and at the intersection of Happy Landing Road/Route 1. Lane reductions will occur on the right southbound and northbound lanes of Pale San Vitores Road, and the right southbound lane of Route 1 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Motorists are advised to heed flaggers at these areas and to proceed with caution and expect delays during these times. 

Route 1 – Yigo 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews will continue installing pavement marking and paint the raised median in Yigo along Route 1 between Juan Jacinto Drive to Gayinero Road starting from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Motorists are advised to expect delays during these times due to intermittent lane closures and shifts. 

Erskin Drive – Agat 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews will install pavement marking and be adjusting manhole covers starting from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect delays due to possible intermittent lane closure and shifts. 

Jose A. Quinata Street – Umatac 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance will install pavement marking starting from 8:00 AM to 4:00PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect delays due to possible intermittent lane closure and shifts. 

Pocaigue St. – Yona 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews will start roadbed preparations for hot mix asphalt paving on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect intermittent lane closure and shifts. 

Chalan Anonas – Chalan Pago 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance will be installing roadway pavement markings during the week starting from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect delays due to possible lane closure and shifts. 

Carmen Leon Guerrero St – Talofofo 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews will continue roadbed preparations for hot mix asphalt paving. Paving will commence shortly. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect delays. 

Atanacio Street – Mangilao 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews are schedule to begin paving onTuesday, May 22, 2018 starting from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect lane closure and delays. 

Pedro Tainatonon Street – Merizo 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews will begin roadbed preparations for hot mix asphalt paving on Thursday, May 24, 2018 starting from 8:00AM to 4:00 PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect lane closure and delays.

Barcinas Road – Malojloj Inarajan 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews will begin roadbed preparations for hot mix asphalt paving on Friday, May 25, 2018 starting from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect lane closure and delays.

Chalan Disipulu – Dededo 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Maintenance crews will continue roadbed preparations for hot mix asphalt paving through Monday, May 21, 2018. Paving is scheduled to commence on Thursday May 24, 2018. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution through the construction areas and to expect delays. 

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through all construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed to flaggers. Alternative routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
