Governor Eddie Calvo is one of seven U.S. Governors to sign a letter of endorsement supporting the nomination of President Donald Trump for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize. The letter to the Nobel Committee Chairman cites Trump's "transformative efforts to bring peace to the Korean peninsula."

Calvo's spokesperson says the Governor appreciates the President's strong defense of Guam during North Korean leader Kim Jung Un's threat to launch missiles against Guam. Trump made a personal call to Calvo during the height of the threat, saying he was 1,000 percent behind Guam.

The other signatories are the Governors of South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, West Virginia, Kansas, and Maine.
