Second arrest made for copper wire theft

A second man is arrested in connection to a copper wire theft late last month.Court documents state 53-year-old Gregorio Pangelinan Sablan admitted to police he stole copper wire from his job site and loaded it into another man’s trunk.Peter Hans was recently arrested in this case. Sablan, court documents state, told police he instructed Hans to bring the items to a recycling center to sell. Hans, however, didn’t give him a share of the profits. As reported, the victim in this case is a contractor. Last month, he reported $24,700 worth of tools and copper wire had been stolen from a container at the job site.The victim found the copper wire at a recycling center. The sale was traced back to Hans, who reportedly admitted to police he sold the copper wire and didn’t share the proceeds with the man who had given him the wire to sell.Sablan was arrested and charged with theft and theft by receiving, both as second degree felonies.
