Healthcare providers on Guam are urged to be on alert for possible cases of measles. The increased measles circulation in the region, Asia, and the US has the Department of Public Health issuing a reminder about the highly contagious viral disease.

The health department recommending anyone with travel plans should get vaccinated at least four to six weeks before leaving. Hundreds of cases including more than a dozen deaths from the disease were recently reported in the Philippines.

You can find out more on how you can get vaccinated by calling the public health immunization program at 735-7143.
